Hey guys! Both of my Birchbox subs are here (both are paid for by me) and so I had to show you what came! Birchbox is now letting you choose one sample or a themed box (depending on availability) and so i’ve been lucky enough to grab the majority of the special boxes since I have two subs. BB is $10 a month and totally worth it as they have an AWESOME points system and i’ve been able to get quite a few higher end products for GREAT prices since you can use your points with coupon codes! Enough babbling, let’s get into what came this month!
Rent The Runway Box
Rent the Runway teamed up with Birchbox this month to curate a box of beauty essentials to amp up your look every day. They also included a unique code for $30 off a $75+ order on Rent The Runway.
Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub ($3.19): Now i’m not sure how well this is going to work for wrinkles but as an exfoliator it is pretty good stuff. I really liked how it left my skin feeling after I was done and it was gentle on the skin. I’m not sure if I would repurchase just yet but i’m intrigued with maybe using points for it.
Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo ($6.94): This is not my first time using this stuff..I actually think this might be my 3rd or 4th can and I really like it! It smells good, it works, and it doesn’t leave your hair looking like there is powder all up in it. I haven’t repurchased it yet since the full-size is $20 but it might be a nice non-food splurge when I hit a scale goal!
Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in The Stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in ($1.76): I love Not Soap, Radio body wash, I received the 4-leaf clover one before and they smell heavenly. This one smells like blackberries and has a hint of vanilla in it and I love to use these for bubble baths! They leave your skin smelling SO good and as a body wash it is pretty nice too. My favorite part is the cute blurbs they have on the back as this particular bottle suggests investing a stick as you will be fending off admirers left and right…hmmm I could be okay with that…. 😉
Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner in Raina ($4.40): This is a navy blue eyeliner and it goes on so smooth and creamy. I love the color and I don’t think it is one that I already own in my collection. I’ve received Sumita products before and this one doesn’t seem to budge! I might try it with my elf baked eyeshadow trios with the blues.
theBalm Read My Lips in Bam! ($4): I actually liked this too, it felt good on the lips, smells fruity, and lefts my lips feeling moisturized. I generally like lip glosses anyways so this was right up my alley.
This box was the normal monthly box to celebrate friends instead of the normal valentines day themes that most boxes do for February. This box also came with a unique coupon code for $30 off $75+ order at Rent The Runway.
BeeKind Body Lotion ($1.90): I have to say i’m not in love with this one. It smells very lemony to me and the formula is quite thin. It did soak in pretty nicely and left the skin feeling good but I just couldn’t get past the strong smell. I loved the packaging and as a biology major I love their mission of conservation and research of bees but I think I might pass this one on.
Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Black ($16): Saweet a full-sized item!!! I want to say I actually already have this..I know I have an Eyeko liquid eyeliner but the packaging is different (the one I have is silver) so I need to go through my collection and see if it is the same thing before I open this one. Either way, pretty excited to get a full-size and ya girl loves black eyeliner!
Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser ($1.63): Not sure if this sample is enough to really tell a difference with blemishes or not but i’ve heard this is still a good cleanser. I’ll try it out when i’m done with a few others I have open.
Juicy Couture Hollywood Royal ($1.44): I actually really enjoyed this perfume. I’m not much of a floral scent person but this one is just enough mixed with sweet and fruity to balance it out for my tastes. I would definitely purchase this or ask for it as a gift! I just wish the sample was larger but it is a typical size.
Marcelle Gentle Make-up Remover for Sensitive Eyes ($5): I’m actually in love with my e.l.f. wipes but I tried this stuff for my eyes and I actually really like it. My e.l.f. wipes actually kind of sting my eyes a little bit so I will use this for my eyes and the wipes for my face. It is a nice sized sample and should last me awhile.
While the second box had a better value, I think I preferred the Rent The Runway box as I was happy with everything in it! The second box wasn’t bad, the only thing i’m sure I won’t keep is the lotion, but it had a full-size product so overall it was a great box too! Birchbox is one of the best beauty subs when it comes to their points system. What box was your favorite or what was your favorite item?
I also won’t be using the two unique codes I received for the coupons on Rent the Runway so if you are interested in one let me know in the comments! The first two people who claim one is theirs and the codes expire 4/17/15 at 11:59 EST!
