Ipsy Glam Bag Oct ’14

Hey guys! Its IPSY tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime! 🙂 I love seeing my pink bubble mailer sitting in my mailbox, it definitely is one of my favorite subscriptions and one of the cheapest! Each month you get a bag filled with samples (sometimes full-size) beauty products and so far Ipsy has been pretty good to me. Let’s hope the trend continues this month 🙂

Type: Beauty Box

Cost: $10/month

What: Monthly subscription of deluxe sample or full-sized beauty products in a different glam bag. This generally offers more full-size products than Birchbox but has a points system where you can claim extra goodies in your bag.

This month’s theme is Beauty Candy and unfortunately their “info” card is crap and has nothing on it except social media contests. Ipsy…get with the program! But I have to save I LOVE the bag! Blue is one of my favorite colors, the quilted pattern is nice, and it just feels really well made. It does have a slight plastic-y smell but nothing overwhelming or offensive when holding it. To be honest I was kind of hoping for a dud bag so I could use it in a Christmas present..lol is that bad?! Anyways on to the stuff!

Nicole by OPI in On A Gilt Trip ($6): I have an addiction to nail polish and I love this color! Which surprises me because I am not a gold fan at all but this just feels very “fall” and it actually feels like fall in Florida..at least for a few days. This is a full-size item and is more than have the cost of the sub so yay!! Off to a good start. It does have a slight shimmer in it and is a matte formula which i’m actually starting to like so I will definitely be getting some use out of this once i’m done playing for Halloween 🙂

Epice Purifying Exfoliant ($9.70): I’ve never used this brand before but i’m always looking for a good exfoliant but for $32 it is a litttttttle out of my budget…unless I truly love it. First impression it’s works well and didn’t see any adverse affects on my skin but I will have to use it a few more times to truly form an honest opinion. And with the second item we are almost double the cost of the sub!

Ayres Patagonia Body Butter ($4.15): So I was extremely happy to see a body butter in my bag and then I saw the scent…jasmine and rosemary. Really?! Ipsy had to send me the two scents I despite the most? Lol I was really hoping for the Midnight Tango that had vanilla and orange blossom but no. This feels REALLY nice on the skin though and if they had sent me the one i’d prefer I know I would totally be in love. If I use this I might do it at night so I don’t have to smell it haha.

ModelCo Volumeyes Extreme Black Mascara ($15.56): I’ve received this brand before in sub boxes and I know it’s on the higher end so i’m excited to give this one a shot. I might have overshot the value on this one since I know we received 7g of product but couldn’t find the actual weight of the full-size (except 9ml)..so this might be a deluxe sample? Either way I like trying out mascaras but this one will have to wait awhile since I have quite a few open and just really love my Urban Decay Perversion that nothing else has come close to it. We shall see!

Noyah Lipstick in Deeply in Mauve ($5.95): This is a tiny lipstick which is good since I don’t really love the color, it’s a little too dark for my pasty skin in my opinion ha. I do love that it is an all-natural lipstick though and the formula feels really nice. It’s a perfect fall shade, just not sure how well it works for me since it is very vampy..but it is close to Halloween though.

So this month my bag is valued at $41 with the only items i’m not overly excited for is the lipstick (shade is too dark) and the body butter (hate the scent, love the product) so I consider this bag a pretty good win. I do like that my bag had more higher priced items in it with a mix of different type of products plus the bag itself is awesome. You’re still on my good size Ipsy!

If you’re interested in checking out Ipsy for $10/month, I do want to remind you that there is a waiting list after you sign up to start receiving your bags (generally 1-2 months) BUT there is a “skip the wait” option by doing some tasks on social media. So the likelihood of receiving this bag might be kind of low. Also, feel free to click the Ipsy tag/category and see my past bags if you’re curious!
