Barkbox is one of my favorite subscriptions to receive and it isn’t even for me! I can only imagine what my mail days will look like when I have kids from all the subscription boxes i’ll try out. Thankfully we are still quite some time from that so i’ll settle with spoiling my pup 😉
Barkbox is a monthly dog subscription at $29 (longer plans are less) that sends out 4-6 goodies every month for your pup. They have three different size options (0-20lbs, 20-50lbs, 50+lbs) depending on the size of your dog so you can get the right items. Cache is huge so we get him the Big & Bold size but they are changeable each month so if you have a growing pup you’re not stuck in the same size. Continue reading
In general, acquiring makeup and beauty items from various ways is always a fun time, especially when something new comes out on the market and you *need* all the variations. The problem with that is you can go from a cute mess to becoming the next victim on the TV show Hoarders in a quick second. So convenient storage that can be displayed is something i’m always keeping an eye out for especially for those hard to contain items like nail polish!
Nail polish by nature are colorful and fun but sometimes can be hard to store in a convenient but organized way. Usually what ends up happening is I grab a handful of my go-to polishes to put on my desk and l tend to forget about the others or get overwhelmed trying to look at the variations and opt for leaving my nails bare. That’s until I randomly came across a Color Clutch ad that stated you could fit nearly any polish in it, on Facebook.
My March Birchbox is here and so since I just did my Ipsy I figured I would put up this guy around the same time since they are both similar subscriptions at $10 a month. Birchbox is slightly different in the fact that they don’t send a makeup bag every month, their points system is better, and they generally have more higher end samples than full-size drugstore like Ipsy. But they both have their strengths and weaknesses, which one did I like better this month? Let’s find out!
Birchbox is generally worth it to me for their points system, since each item you review in your box gives you 10 points, usually every two boxes gets you $10 credit to use in their store. The nice thing about that is they often have free shipping on a ton of items and so you can get higher end items discounted on a fairly often basis. For example one time I cashed in on my points for the Smashbox Full Exposure palette with free shipping..considering it was a $52 palette I was extremely happy! I also like to get my Not Soap Radio body wash from Birchbox too! *PS if you haven’t tried those yet, oh my lanta I love them!* Continue reading
Hey everyone! If you’ve been around for awhile you know one of my favorite websites for personalized gifts is Shutterfly! You can make anything from magnets to phone cases to greeting cards to blankets with your family and friends plastered all over them.
From time to time Shutterfly loves to send out free coupon codes for personalized items every few months, now you do pay shipping which i’ll get into but getting the item itself for free is still a great value!
Every day my mail comes I have to laugh because i’m 99.9% sure my mailman either thinks i’m crazy or rich because it seems like every day he is dropping off boxes. I’m neither of those things but I do know how to stretch my beauty dollas and Ipsy is one of those not-so-secret ways!
For $10 a month you get a makeup bag designed for Ipsy and 4-6 beauty products to try. Now some months are better than others but generally the items are from good decent brands and offer a range of products. My one true complaint with Ipsy is I don’t think they truly “customize” your bags to your profile and reviews so be warned you may receive colors/products out of your comfort zone but sometimes that can be half the fun. My other gripe is that they include a useless card featuring their girls dolled up and social media contests but never anything about the products. So it takes a little extra effort to get more information about the products you received unlike some other $10 subscriptions *coughbirchboxcough*. Get with it Ipsy!
It’s hard to believe that we are in the middle of March already and so of course the monthly theme is “Hello Spring”. The bag isn’t my favorite because I thought I was getting a different color variation because it is whoa bright but its of nice size, and a typical ipsy bag. Continue reading
Now, I know some of you that have fallen deep into the beauty world are probably asking yourself why am I just now reviewing an Urban Decay palette that came out well over a year ago. I get it, but there’s a reason! For those that have not gone down the rabbit hole, this may be the first time you’ve even heard of this palette or have never tried UD products before. Either way, I’m hoping to shed a little light on how I feel about this palette and whether you should add it to your collection now matter how big or small.
The Urban Decay Shadow Box palette retails for $34 (spoiler: price cut info at the end) and holds 12 0.1 oz shadows- 9 of which are some of their best-selling shades, 3 of which are brand new to the scene at launching. New shades will be marked with a * for reference. The packaging is cardboard with a nice and sleek smoky purple design, roughly the size of an iPhone 6 plus so it’s comfy to hold in your hand, and features the UD logo with magnetic closure. Inside the palette is a mirror with a quote “beauty with an edge” and of course the shadows, being two rows of six.
I’m back with another Treats box! Normally I wouldn’t have them so close together but I made the cut off for February’s box and so now i’m on the regular schedule of the 2nd week of the month. Can you believe we are in the second week of March already? Where does the time go?!
Treats is an international snack box that delivers a new country each month. With two pack options to choose from: Standard ($13.95 4-6+ snacks) and Premium ($25.95 8-12+ snacks), both with free shipping, you can decide how adventurous you want to be!
One thing i’ve noticed with this company is that they do ship pretty quickly, I mean they say they ship the second week of the month and its only the 10th, so that I appreciate. Another thing I like, not sure why, is that it comes wrapped in plain brown paper, maybe because it feels like a present that I need to unwrap? I think i’m an 8 year old trapped in a 28 year old’s body. No shame. Continue reading
